Portsmouth Historic Dockyards

On Tuesday 17th April, the Lower Juniors embarked on an exciting school trip. We travelled for hours and hours until we reached our destination, Portsmouth Historic Dockyards. During the day, we took part in lots of great activities and I am sure the children will blog to let you all know what fun they had.

What I enjoyed most about my school trip was; sketching the Historic HMS Victory that served as Lord Nelson’s flagship during the famous furious Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. In the museum, there were three wooden bunkbeds where sailors slept silently, old Guns & Silver Swords were also on display. When I went to the fascinating giftshop, I bought a maroon rubber and a vermillion pen (which serves as a great memory of the amazing day I had!)

Overall, this trip was a great way to learn about the brilliant boats and the lives of the Sailors and the Captain of the ship who sacrificed their freedom for their Country.
