My favorite animals are :Tigers, Leopards, Lions.

    Tigers

Easilly recognized by its reddish-orange and dark stripes, the tiger are the largest wild cat in the world. The big cat weighs up to 720 pounds (363 kilograms), stretches 6 feet (2 meters long)and has a 3-foot – (1-meter-)long tail. The powerful predator generally hunts alone, able to bring down prey such as Deer and Antelope. Tigers wait till dark to hunt.

My favorite animal is a Tiger. roarrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Easily recognized by its reddish-orange and dark stripes, the Tigers are the largest wild cat in the world. The big cat weighs up to 720 pounds (363 kilograms), stretches 6 feet (2 meters long) and has a 3 foot (1 meter long) tail. The powerful predator generally hunts alone, able to bring down prey such as a Deer and a Anletope. Tigers wait till dark to hunt.

Once the Tiger has spotted its prey, its sneaks as close as possible to its victim.
Then the tiger sprints to the unsuspecting animal, usually , pulling of it feet with its teeth and claws. If the prey animal is large , the Tiger bites its throat to kill it; smaller prey is usually killed when the Tiger breaks its neck.

Unlike most members of the cat family, Tigers seem to enjoy water. They swim well and often soak in streams or pools to cool off. Some Tigers live in very cold parts like- India and Southeast Asia.

Tigers have been known to eat up to 60 pounds (27 kilograms) of meat in one night, but more often they consume about 12 pounds (5 kilograms) during a meal. It may take days for a tiger to finish eating its kill. The cat eats until it’s full, and then covers the carcass with leaves and dirt. When it’s hungry again, the tiger comes back to feed some more, until the meat is gone.

The whole species is endangered throughout its range. Tigers have been overhunted for their fur as well as for other body parts that many people use in traditional medicines. Tigers’ habitat has also dwindled seriously as humans have developed land for uses such as farming and logging.
    FAST FACTS
The scientific name for the tiger is Panthera tigris.

There are five subspecies of tiger: Bengal, South China, Indochinese, Sumatran, and Siberian. Three subspecies of tiger—Caspian, Bali, and Javan—are extinct.Tigers that live in cold northern areas are usually bigger and heavier than those that live in tropical habitats.

No two tigers have exactly the same pattern of stripes.

A tiger retracts its claws as it walks, leaving no claw marks in its tracks.Tigers hunt at night; they can see well in the dark.

A tiger’s roar can be heard as far as two miles (three kilometers) away.

Tigers weigh from 240 to 500 pounds (109 to 227 kilograms); males are larger than females.

I think Tigers are amazing because of there beautiful colors , there amazing markings, and their beautiful sleek but strong physique.

My other favorite animal is a koala because they are really really cute. They love to cuddle with people and like to eat bamboo also live in trees.Koalas are marsupials, related to kangaroo family. Most marsupials have pouches where the tiny newborns develop a new life. A koala mother usually gives birth to one joey (a baby Koala) at a time. A newborn koala is only the size of a jelly bean ,are how cute,. Called a joey, the baby is blind, naked, and earless. As soon as it’s born, this tiny creature makes its way from the birth canal to its mother’s pouch.Using the two well-developed senses it’s born with smell and touch along with its strong front legs and claws and an instinct that tells it which direction to head, the baby koala reaches the pouch. There it stays, safely tucked away, growing and developing for about seven months ( more than one). After a baby has been in the pouch for about six months, its mother begins to produce a special substance called pap.The joey feeds on this in addition to the milk it’s already getting. Pap comes from the mother’s intestines and contains bacteria that the joey needs to have in its own intestines so that it can digest an adult diet of eucalyptus leaves. The scientific name for the koala is Phascolarctos cinereus.

Koalas are marsupials; newborn koalas—called joeys—continue to develop in their mothers’ pouches.

Koalas have thick woolly fur that protects them from both heat and cold. It also acts like a raincoat.

I really wish i could have a koala soo I can snuggle up with it on the couch.

    More Facts about Chinchillas!!!

Wild chinchillas are nocturnal animals. They sleep in daytime, and play and feed at night.
Chinchillas eat only plants. They are herbivores.
Chinchillas make burrows and live in cardon plants.
They live in very rocky, dry areas.
Chinchillas like to take baths in dust.
They are mammals in the rodent family. They look a little like gray squirrels, with ears like mice. They are l/2 the size of rabbits.
Chinchillas share space with degus. Degus are also rodents that look a little like guinea pigs. Degus are active in the daytime.
Chinchillas have really thick fur. Humans have one hair per pore, or hair follicle. Chinchillas have 50 hairs per follicle!
Some people keep chinchillas for pets. These are not wild.
Chinchillas are on the endangered species list. They have been killed for their plush fur. People make coats of their fur.
People have also destroyed the chinchillas’ habitat by making roads and homes.
Chinchillas are extinct in Peru and Bolivia, but are still living in Chile. Chile is now the only place in the world where wild chinchillas live!
Chinchillas are endangered or, in Spanish, en peligro.
In 1983, the “Reserva Nacional Las Chinchillas” was built to protect the chinchillas.
Even so, the number of chinchillas in Chile is still dropping.
Chinchilla females have two litters each year. Each litter has only 1-2 babies, or pups. This is a small number of babies per year. Amy Deane, a scientist who studies chinchillas, wants to save wild chinchillas. She is trying to create new habitats for the chinchillas by growing native plants.

Chinchillas are rodents. What other animals are rodents? What kind of teeth do you think chinchillas have?
Chinchillas live in the same space as degus. Do you know of any other nocturnal animals that live happily near diurnal animals?
If chinchillas are half the size of rabbits, how many chinchilla furs would be needed to make a chinchilla coat?
Amy Deane studied chinchillas as pets for 10 years before she ever saw a wild chinchilla. Why do you think it might have taken her so long?
