Buddies! Year Five Blogging Homework!

This week, we found out who our buddies will be in September.

We have spent our English lessons this week writing letters to them so that they will know who and what to expect when they arrive next year.

We can’t wait to send them!

I can’t wait to meet my buddy! I know how exited the year 6s were when they met their buddy! Years on I met my older buddy at a horsy place and we both adore horses! I loved having a buddy it was like having a best friend to rely on and show you to the classroom if you find yourself lost! I love the idea and I want to make my buddy feel welcome at hordle like my buddy did! You know you already have a friend when you see your beaming new friend! I can’t wait ! I hope my letter made her want to come to hordle even more!

  5. Thomas M says:

I am looking forward to having a buddy next year because, as an only child, I have never experienced being responsible for a younger individual. Being able to share my thoughts and experiences about the school with hopefully make her confident and enjoy her new start at Hordle.

My favourite thing that I am mst looking forward to is probably goig to be playing with my buddy at playtime and knowing that they are happy and that they are having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Alice N says:

I can’t wait to meet my buddy Harrison! I am sharing my buddy with Isabel T, but I think that makes it even more exciting! Because I am the youngest in my family, it will be really nice to have a person that looks up at me and thinks ‘wow’! I can’t wait! 🙂 😉 😀 😛

  8. Alice N says:

Writing the Buddy letters was amazing! It was so tense when the teachers read out the names; everybody was really excited! I decorated my letter in a spotty border, a drawing of the pirate ship and school, along with a smiley face and an extra good luck. I remember how I felt on my first day- quite excited but a little nervous. Hordle is a great school! 🙂

  9. Alice N says:

I am looking forward to being a buddy because I can help him make new friends, play with him, and read books with him in the School Library. It will be amazing!!!!!!!!!

  10. Katie W says:

Personally, I think just having a buddy in general is really exciting and I can’t really chose what my most exiting part of being a buddy is as it is all very exciting such as: Reading to them in the library, Playing with them in the playground, having buddy time with them and much more exiting things to do and learn!

  11. Bethany T says:

I am really looking forward to meeting my buddy her name is Neve I just cant wait to play with her ,read with her ,do maths with her and English it is going to be so exciting but if I was to choose 1 it would be read with Neve because I love helping children learn different things 🙂

  12. Imogen C says:

I am so excited about meeting my buddy for the first time! My letter tells little Archie of his excitements that await him at Hordle, the creative pirate ship, friendly teachers, and the best place to learn in- the great classrooms!!!!!
The memories are incredible! I remember me receiving the letter, my sister having it and seven years later, after my experience I am sending my own letter!! It is so exciting!!

  13. Miss Aslett says:

When I have a buddy I will enjoy meeting a new friend and also reading to them.
It will be like having a little brother as I can show him around and be there if he is sad or lonely.
I remember when I had a buddy and I think he will too!

    From Josh B

  14. Miss Aslett says:

Because I have a younger brother and he is seven, I know what it feels like to have a brother or sister. And it is a big opportunity for all of the year fives especially people who do not have brothers or sisters.

At the pantomime we will have to look after our buddy to make sure they are not scared

  15. Miss Aslett says:

I am most looking forward about being a buddy is that I can care for him and look after him like a younger brother. In addition, I can come to see him and play with him at school and its like a little sibling being added to my family. And when it’s Easter, there Birthday or even Christmas I can buy him gifts.

    From Lucie G

  16. Joseph W says:

I am so exited to be a buddy this year especially because i am with Jacob. I am looking forward to playing with my buddy and also seeing him have so much fun with his friends.
I think it will be good to interact with younger children because it will give people who have not got a younger brother or sister the opportunity to feel like they have one.
I can not wait to meet my buddy!

  17. Amy B says:

I am so excited to be a buddy because it is anohter responsile thing to do and you will never get to be a buddy to the same child when there starting primary school again. Also it is a HUGE resbonsibility because that child is going to remeber you forever and you dont want them to remeber you as a bad person you want them to think of you and think werent they lovely or i can remeber when they helped me with this ect.

  18. Gabriela R says:

I AM SO EXCITED, I can’t wait to see my buddy because taking care of a four year old is a big responsibility. You also want to make your buddy never forget the first time they walk into this school and you don’t want them to forget you and the letter you wrote to them.It so exciting for everyone because they want to see their buddy’s.

  19. Lily D says:

    My Buddy Is Called Mahala
When I turn a buddy next year I am looking forward to taking on the responsibility of looking after a four year old. In some ways this will be challenging as my buddy will look at me as an example and if I act silly they will act silly too. I can’t wait to meat her and show you teachers I can look after someone a lot younger than me and I can act sensible and not just play with friends and ignore her if she is upset, lonely or if she comes to me.

And that is what I’m looking forward to most and I hope everyone else is looking forward to meeting their buddy. If you are sharing a buddy then don’t look at it in a bad way just see it as you are sensible enough to share and you can have something to talk about with the person your sharing with, you might even make a new friend to play with.

Thank You And Sorry If It Is Too Long!
