Hordle Primary School wins the ‘London 2012 Legacy’ award!

Hordle Primary School and the HSA are absolutely delighted to announce that they have been awarded the ‘London 2012 Legacy Award’ at the 2015 Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sports Awards!

This was rewarded as a marker for the school’s outstanding commitment to keeping the Olympic legacy alive and in recognition of all the sport that happens throughout the school. ย Mrs Adams, Mrs Way, Mrs Phillips and Mr Slattery were thrilled to be invited to the 2015 Sport Awards Ceremony at Southampton Football Club and were overjoyed to have walked away with the trophy! ย As you’ll see from the file below, they all had a terrific evening!

However, perhaps the most exciting part was getting to share the news with the children. ย The whole school were called into the hall for an early assembly to share the fantastic news and look at our new trophy! ย What a great team effort from everyone, go Team Hordle!

I have been waiting for this post, and I’m 4 months late! Oh well. It’s incredible- out of all those schools, it was us. And out of all those schools, every pupil had a decision to come here. And it was a great choice. Think about all these experiences and links through history we have… Aaron Phipps coming to our school…the olympic hockey pitch… the bell-ringer on VE day seventy years ago returning…our fantastic sports teams entering tournaments and bringing back medals and trophies-even being named as the Hampshire County Champions for netball two years in a row! We are in a great community which should be loved and appreciated. This was another great oppurtunity for our school, and we really took it. Go Team Hordle!
