KS1 Nativity – Hosanna Rock

This year the Infant classes staged a fantastic production of Hosanna Rock. The children worked so hard to learn all of their lines and songs in order to wow their audiences in no less than four performances!

Let all men sing. Let Hosannas ring. We have seen the baby, we have seen the King!

One audience member was heard to exclaim ‘I have watched many Nativities over the years but that was the best one I have seen, including those that my own children and grandchildren have been in.’

Another said ‘I would not even have wanted to attempt that with older children but they did a great job!’

Each performance began  with the choir singing an unaccompanied rendition of ‘Silent Night’.

Special congratulations must go to those performers who spoke, played instruments or sang solos for the first time. No mean feat in front of audiences of 120+. Children what risk takers you proved to be and how proud we all were of you!

‘How can this be? God has chosen me!’

Thanks also to the wonderful team of staff and parents who helped to ensure that all 90 children had superb costumes to wear. I am sure you will all agree that the children looked spectacular!

The animals in the stable thought that something very special was going on!

‘We are three Wise Men…’

Now that the costumes have been boxed and packed away until next year and the stage dissembled it seems only right to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

The Nativity is a really festive thing to do each Christmas. Today, me and the chamber choir went to the Arnewood carol concert, and two schools sung songs related to the Nativity! In year 1, I was an angel (not angel Gabriel though) and year 2 a narrator. You feel so excited when performing! Well Done! 😛 😀

I’ve said this before but I absoloutely LOVE the Nativity! I can’t remember mine very well, but I know that in year one (Badger Class) I was a little angel! It was followed in Year two (Hedgehog) when I played the part of a Narrator. All I can remember was speaking after the song which goes: ‘Where do we find a place for the night?’ Anyone recognise it? I guess it was a 2009 & 2010 song, after all. But still, it’s the memory that counts. Great work- every year brings new surprises! I’ve already seen my last Nativity performance (which was my cousin William’s) so I will treasure it forever!
