Bears

Recent learning and activities from our ‘Bears’ topic:

Our very exciting Three Bear’s Cottage role-play area:

I wonder when Goldilocks will visit?

Children enjoyed having a teddy bear’s picnic…

As well as hunting around the school to find all the hidden bears.

Here is mummy bear wearing her disguise…

One of the exciting activities this week involved the computers. Children had to identify the different sized characters and objects in the Goldilocks game and match them together.

Goldilocks decided it would be a good idea to wash up, to try and hide the evidence that she had eaten the bear’s porridge. The children had a go at doing the washing up to help Goldilocks.

‘We are washing up to help Goldilocks’

‘We are srubbing the pans!’

This messy activity involved lots of mathematics! The children had to count out a different number of spoonfuls of porridge into their bowl and then compare them.

Using their best cutting skills the children were challenged with making a teddy bear which had moving arms and legs.

‘It was great fun, I liked the cutting’

This game enabled the children to compare different sized objects, using lots of vocabulary such as: biggest, big, medium, small and  smallest.

The Ladybirds and Bumblebees really enjoyed dressing up like Goldilocks and trying to sneak into the Three Bears house.

WOW, what a really exciting topic all about bears!

It looks like you’ve had a lot of fun! I would love to go on the Goldilocks game. In the Lower and Upper Juniors, your never allowed to play games on the computers. It’s always work, work, work, how unfair is that! I love the idea of creating a dance about fireworks, they are truly insperational!
