GRUFFALO Week 1 to 3
The first topic of the year for Foundation Stage is the Gruffalo! This is a favourite book of the staff and much loved by the children.
Children collected leaves and other items from all around the school site to create a giant Gruffalo on the playground.
The children enjoyed using the Gruffalo small world area to retell and act out the story. They particularly enjoyed using the Gruffalo puppet in their learning.
For the three week topic, there was a Gruffalo’s Woods in the corner of the classroom, the children spent lots of time having picnics in the woods, re-enacting the story and marking making.
That sounds loads of fun! Right now I wish I was back in reception! 🙂
