March – Key Stage One

Our Author of the Month for March is…Lauren Child!

Lauren is an English author and illustrator who is well known for her series of Charlie and Lola picture books. In fact, she won the Kate Greenaway in 2000 for the year’s greatest illustration.

She has since gone on to write many more fascinating tales and we are fortunate to have a generous selection of these in our library.

So, as it is World Book Day on 7th March and there are so many exciting things happening, why not try a book by Lauren Child? Which one is your favourite? Why?

We like Charlie and Lola books; we loved watching the teachers performing ‘ Beware of the Storybook Wolves’ in front of the whole school. Our favourite characters were the big wolf, the fairy godmother and the wicked fairy. We also liked listening to Mrs Reynold’s ‘made up’ piano tunes during the play. We REALLY loved it all!
Team Badger liked it when Mr Phillips was a Risk Taker in his bright pink dress. It really made us laugh!
