Patterns

Welcome back to everyone, we are looking forward to our busy Summer Term.

Week 1

Dear Zoo

This term start off with a strange noise coming from the corner of the room, on closer inspection the children found the role play area had become a zoo.

The children were very excited to be given the opportunity to help create this role play with the staff. They painting animals to go inside and made signs for the walls.

Noah’s Ark

During the week children got the chance to see if the fantastic Noah’s Arks, they made over the Easter break, would float…

Well done children, such brilliant arks which you have clearly worked really hard to create!

Week 2 and 3

Elmer

All the staff looked forward to our two weeks on Elmer, it is such a lovely story and the children always love it. The week started with a pattern parade, all the children dressed in their most patterned clothing and had their faces painted. Then they all strutted their stuff down the cat walk and struck there coolest poses.

To complement the animals in the role play zoo, the children made a huge Elmer the elephant, drawing the shapes and painting it with the help of some kind parents…

Wow, what a colourful elephant the children are painting!

Whilst learning all about Elmer the elephant and his friends, the children made lots of different small world areas using all sorts of different animals.

One of the activities that the children enjoyed the most was painting a new fence for the zoo using the long handled paint brushes, it was very tricky when turning around not to paint each other.

With all the sunny weather, the corner of the outdoor area was converted into an outdoor painting corner, here one of the children can be seen painting a zoo animal.

The new Investigation Area with lots of wild animals and labels written by the children.

What a fantastic topic, the children lovely learning about wild animals and patterns.
