Greek Pottery!

Last week, the Upper Juniors created some fabulous Ancient Greek-style clay pots! Using the coil technique, an array of pottery was formed and is now being fired in the kiln, ready for painting!

Did you enjoy the pot making, Upper Juniors? What did you find challenging? What would you do differently next time?

Greek pottery was so fun. I wish we could do it all over again. But mine would be better if we used pottery wheels.

  3. Ethan.B says:

What I loved about the greek pottery was that we made it out of clay then we made our pots and then we had to let them dry and we might have a session of painting our beautiful pots.

  4. Ruby W says:

Even though that making our pots was really hard it was very fun and I think that the Lower Juniors will really enjoy it. If we had the chance to do it all again I would definatly take more time on my planning because I made lots of little mistakes.

I think that making the clay pots was really good but my pot didn’t do very well so I have decided that I am going to use my pot as a candle holder. I hope that the lower juniors don’t do as badly as I did 🙁

I loved making my greek pot as I had learnt lots of techniques like: scoring, curving and I learnt lots of interesting techniques about the shape of my pot! After watching the video in class of a lady making a clay pot, I felt a lot mor confident about how I was going to make my pot and what designs I was going to do!
