Netball County Finals

This year has been one of the best for Netball at Team Hordle; winning the High 5’s County Finals had to be the best! On our way to Aldershot,we knew we had to had to play our best (we had never played any of these teams before). Despite the fact that we were always really nervous, we never gave up and showed Captain Resillience.

Unfortunately, with Archie spraining his foot two days before the tornament we were all very nervous but luckily Emily Hayward stepped in to save the day. Again luck wasn’t on our side and Marshall dislocated his shoulder the day before we competed. It was a nailbiting moment but he all settled our nerves when he showed up at Aldershot Millitary Stadium.

After parading round the track, we set up a base with the help of a gazebo. Finally it was time to show our skills! We played fantastically and won the first five matches but had a really tough challenge when we had to play Sarisbury. Unfortunately we lost 5-4 but we but we showed superb teamship and won all our games apart from that.

With that we had played all our matches and had to wait for a nailbiting 10 minutes to find out if we had come top or our pool and to go through to the final… After listing nervously we found out that we had beaten Sarisbury by goal difference and had to play St Peters School in the final.

Without hesitation we went in all guns blazing and won the final; becoming county champions!

Debate: Hosting the Commonwealth games is a waste of money.

Some of the Upper Junior children were involved in a debate as to whether hosting the Commonwealth games is a waste of money. What do you think?

Mini Netball Match

On Friday 4th of July 2014, the Mini Netball team went to Lymington Junior School for their first ever match against Pennington. Mini Alpha and Mini Beta played 2 matches each. Mini Alpha lost their first game 5-4 but they made a come-back of 5-2 in their second match. On the other hand Mini Beta lost both matches although they played extremely well. They all enjoyed it,  said it was a really good experience and had really good fun!

We managed to talk to some of the players and see what they had to say about the day:

Jasmine, Oak, stated: ” I was in Mini Alpha and it was a great experience for all of us as it was our first match!”

Rachel, Ash, quoted: ” I am in Mini Alpha. My favourite part of the day was winning a match as i felt proud of my team and really ecstatic!”

India, Hazel, said: ” I am in Mini Beta! My favourite part of the day was playing netball with all my friends!”

Overall they had an amazing day and all enjoyed their experience and can’t wait for their next match!

Football review of the year!

It was a long, hard season of football at Hordle Primary School, as many twists and turns occured as well as successful moments. Despite not reflecting last year’s success of winning, Hordle still showed superb teamship and determination to win.

Although Team Hordle did not manage to retain their silverware, they reached the quarter and semi finals of the Poulner tournament and finished second in the league, just losing out on goal difference to Brockenhurst!
